Sergio Burgi has a degree in Social Sciences from USP and a master's degree in Photographic Conservation from Rochester Institute of Technology (USA). He is a member of the Photographic Preservation Group of the Conservation Committee of the International Council of Museums (ICOM). Since 1999, he coordinates the photography area of the Moreira Salles Institute, the main institution dedicated to the storage and preservation of photographic collections in Brazil.
